Who we are
We are elected by you every five years. The Comites are democratically elected by Italians in all consular districts where at least three thousand people registered in the Registry of Italians Resident Abroad (AIRE) live. A term lasts five years.

What is the purpose of the Comites?
The Comites contribute to the social, cultural, and civic development of the Italian community abroad and represent it at diplomatic and consular institutions. They promote the appreciation of the Italian language and culture and foster initiatives aimed at social inclusion and education.

Funding and transparency
The Comites are funded annually by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) for their activities and publish budgets and reports, ensuring maximum transparency towards the community.
